The Two Oceans Aquarium has agreed to step up its support for the Table Bay Marine Drive. As a result, from mid-September 2013 onwards, the excursion will start from a special berth next to the Aquarium in the Alfred basin in the V&A Waterfront. Parking will be available close by.

This initiative will make the Table Bay Marine Drive more accessible to people visiting this renowned facility. Besides this, the Aquarium will offer visitors discounted excursions.

The 2013/14 summer season is well under way, and our refocused Marine Game Drive is running smoothly. Besides dolphins, sunfish and penguins, recent sightings include Southern Right whales, humpback whales and Bryde’s whales, which have entered the bay intermittently throughout the summer.

Our closer collaboration with the Two Oceans Aquarium is also working well. The vessels departs four times a day from a berth outside the Aquarium, and all trips are guided by marine biologists trained by by the Aquarium. Visitors value the ongoing information about the rich marine life in the bay.

Our association with the Aquarium has enabled us to offer visitors a combo ticket, which has become increasingly popular throughout the summer season. These give purchasers access to the Aquarium as a boat trip, both at discounted rates. Indications are that the Marine Game Drive has become the most popular day charter at the V&A Waterfront.

If you’d like to join us, you can simply purchase tickets at the Two Oceans Aquarium or at our other sales booth on the Pierhead between the Victoria and Alfred basins. The first Game Drive leaves at 11 am, the second at 1.30 pm, and the third at 4 pm, followed by a sunset cruise at 6 pm.
